In December, I shared 30 goals for my 30th year of life. This is my March update.
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” – Reinhold Niebuhr.
There are things that sometimes happen to get in the way of your goals. This is not failure but a bump in the road. While we try to put a time line on our goals, there are some goals that are ongoing. Being healthy doesn’t end when 2015 does, but continues on. There will be days that you make an unhealthy choice or decision, but this does not ruin the goal. It is just that. One choice. One decision. Each day, you have the opportunity to make a new choice or decision that falls in line with your goals. Don’t let one bad choice become a lifetime of bad choices.
With this retched winter, I’ve used a lot more of my sick time and vacation time then I had planned (Goal 15) but hope that I can pull back on this one as it gets nicer. But I have no control over school cancelations or the kids (or me for that matter) getting sick. It’s more important that we are safe and healthy.
In the Works:
I am still committed to the Acadia Half Marathon which is June 7th, 2015. Since my post in January, I have run 5 times, but plan with the warmer weather (and the thawing of the ice) to run more outside. I am not entirely friendly with the treadmill and find running on it boring and harder compared to running outside.
Goal 6, was to run 10 races for 2015. Currently, right now I have several races in my crosshairs.
April 26th – Color Me Rad – Manchester, NH
May 2nd – The Rabbit Run – 4 miler through Bangor City Forest and Orono Bog Walk
May 17th – Color Bangor – Fundraiser for the American Folk Festival
May ? – The Ta Ta Trot – Fundraiser for the Holy Walkamolies Avon Foundation – Belfast, Me
June 7th – Acadia Half Marathon – 13.1 miles through the gorgeous Acadia Park
August 23rd – The Color Run – 5k in Bangor
September 20th – Race for the Cure – Bangor

I also created my own pattern for a Granny Square Yoga bag!!! (Goal 30)
I also made these Gluten Free Oatmeal Creme Pies!!! (Goal 23)
